Verdict: It appears that DIAMOND NECKLACE was more forward than anticipated when winning at the Curragh, and there should be better to come. Aidan O'Brien should know how things stand with Sukanya, fourth behind a Ballydoyle-trained filly at Goodwood. Kensington Lane has improved with racing and may compete for place money with Caught U Sleeping who shaped like a good prospect when winning at Naas on debut. [Alan Sweetman]

Verdict: Johnny Murtagh holds a strong hand here with four runners, 7lb claimers aboard the two who make most appeal, CHICAGO FIREBALL narrowly preferred to the top-weighted Rahmi on account of a more favourable draw. Gleneagle Bay deserves a pot such as this and rates a major player from a favourable draw, while Dunum and last year's winner Dance Night Andday are respected too. [Alan Hewison]

Verdict: Five runners, all trained by members of the O'Brien family. Aiden O'Brien has won this in recent years with Auguste Rodin and Diego Velazquez and has a strong hand here with BENVENUTO CELLINI and Montreal, the former a raw type with likely plenty of improvement in him and already proven on this sort of ground. Donnacha runs A Boy Named Susie, who probably didn't do himself justice in the Futurity but should relish these conditions, while the pick of Joseph's pair looks to be Hardy Warrior, winner of a C&D maiden on similar ground. Verdict: A hot renewal. Trustyourinstinct faces stronger competition than when winning this last year but has improved since and has to be respected. However, already a winner eight times at Group 3 level, AL AASAY (nap) sets a high standard and comes here on the back of an impressive Goodwood win. He should be hard to beat. German Derby second Convergent is much the most appealing of the three-year-olds. [Alan Hewison]

Verdict: Already twice a Group 1 winner in Ireland and second to Porta Fortuna here 12 months ago, FALLEN ANGEL can enhance her fine record at top level by confirming the narrow superiority to January that brought victory in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville. The runner-up has been placed in four Group 1s and can prove stronger over this trip than Cercene who relegated her to third place in the Coronation Stakes. That said, Joe Murphy's filly emerged with credit from her first try at this trip in the Nassau, confirming the progress achieved since an early-season defeat inflicted by Atsila who has failed to measure up since. Verdict: Very competitive. Although harbouring concerns over the ground it could pay to side with SKUKUZA after a luckless York run. The selection had earlier beaten Alakazi at the Curragh and that rival could emerge the biggest danger again here. Johan got the run of the race when scoring over C&D recently but may not get it here, while the likes of Expanded and Scorthy Champ are on reputation-redeeming missions, the former will relish the softened ground conditions. Verdict: There is no denying a weight in evidence in favour of Delacroix, a dual C&D trials winner who has redeemed himself since an Epsom lapse and represents the team that has won this event 12 times since 2000. However, it is conceivable that the progressive ZAHRANN can eclipse the more established performers on soft ground which may help to bring about the improvement required to score on his first Group 1 attempt. Last season's third Shin Emperor may prove best of a strong older cohort. White Birch is respected too, along with Anmaat, bidding to become the first horse older than six to win this event. Verdict: Running off the same mark when an unlucky-in-running fourth at York last month ZANNDABAD could prove a bit of value on ground he handles. Helvic Dream would be a popular winner after his Galway demotion and holds every chance on his favoured ground, while others to consider are Aeronautic and Too Bossy For Us who could prove the pick of the Mullins' runners. Light As Air is a potential improver. [Alan Hewison]

Verdict: A sister to a Group 3 winner, Frankel filly CONTINUITE, one of four runners for Ger Lyons, is potentially interesting with Nicola Burns taking off a valuable 7lb. The main danger could be the superbly-bred Proxima Centauri who has taken a while to establish herself. In a very open contest, Shavasi is noteworthy as the apparent selected of three Joseph O'Brien-trained runners. Plume Noire can run well when fresh and is another for the shortlist. [Alan Sweetman]
